Joining our culinary team, Deansen Runganaikaloo is a talented Chef who has worked throughout New Zealand in the last 14 years. Originally from Mauritius, Deansen moved to Melbourne at the age of 18 to follow his passion of cooking. Classically trained, Deansen studied at William Angliss Institute and worked in several restaurants for 5 years before making his way to Wellington, where he spent 10 years cooking in the city’s iconic establishments including being Sous Chef at Shed 5 restaurant and Head chef at Floriditas restaurant.
Over the last 4 years Deansen worked in the fine dining industry at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers Lodge in Hawkes Bay, before arriving in Auckland in 2024. Coming from a teaching family, Deansen has now followed the footsteps of his parents. He brings a wealth of skills, knowledge and passion to our team at Selwyn Community Education.
