Timothy Woo
Kia ora everyone! I'm originally from Beijing, China. I hold dual master’s degrees in Education and Secondary Teaching from New Zealand and have been teaching languages since 2009. Currently, I teach Chinese and ESOL at Selwyn College, working with high school students to foster their language skills and cultural understanding. In addition, I am excited to expand my teaching to adults from various industries across New Zealand, helping them master practical Chinese for personal and professional growth.
I am passionate about language teaching because it bridges cultures, empowers communication, and opens doors to new opportunities. My lessons are designed to be engaging and tailored to my students’ goals, whether they are exploring Chinese for work, travel, or cultural enrichment. Watching learners gain confidence and connect through language is the most rewarding part of my teaching journey.
