Chiko Smyth
Having lived in New Zealand for over 26 years, I have worked in roles such as guide, cooking class tutor, and personal Japanese tutor. Currently, I am a Japanese Language Consultant and Language Class Assistant at a public high school in Auckland. These experiences have strengthened my ability to engage with diverse learners and create positive, interactive learning environments. My extensive teaching experience, understanding of both Japanese and New Zealand cultures, and creative approach to instruction make me confident in my ability to teach adults. I am also excited to share cultural insights and travel recommendations with students planning trips to Japan. As an active member of both the Auckland Japanese Society and the Japanese Supplementary School committee, I bring valuable cultural knowledge and connections to my teaching.
