I have a PhD in Ancient History from the University of Auckland, specialising in ancient Egypt. I have also taught at the University of Auckland as a tutor and lecturer, as well as a number of continuing education courses and public lectures.
I have an interest in all aspects of ancient Egypt, from language and literature to material culture. My thesis focused on ancient Egyptian literature, particularly those from the Graeco-Roman periods, where I looked at how ancient Egyptians constructed their narratives to be enjoyed by the audience. I also go to Egypt every year on excavation near Luxor.
