Sandra Morris had her first book, 'One Lonely Kakapo', published in 1990 while studying for her MFA at Elam School of Fine Arts, winning the Russell Clark Award for illustration in 1992. Since then she has written and illustrated a number of award winning books. In 1996, Sandra gained a graduate diploma in plant and wildlife illustration from the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia. She has worked in educational publishing for many years and has also taught at tertiary level for 4 years.
