In this course you will gain an introduction to the concept of design, learn some practical applications of flowers and plants, learn about size symmetry and the world of colour, learn how to hand-tie bouquets and how to wire and tape flowers and foliage. You'll learn several styles for arranging bouquets and get to practice each, then choose your favourite style to assemble your bouquet. Seasonal flowers will be used.
Each of our floral design courses are designed as stand-alone courses to explore a different aspect of floristry.
Those with an interest in flowers, home decorating, or perhaps considering training for a career in the floristry industry.
Bring your lunch. Tea and coffee will be available in the staff room. We recommend that you bring a box, basket or other receptacle to carefully transport your creation home. All flowers, foliage and materials are included in your course fee ($50).
From Floral Design Posies and Bouquets June 2020: "I found this course so wonderful. The tutor Lorna was lovely and the whole group were warm and happy. I really enjoyed it and learnt so much from Lorna. I'm now motivated and have added incentive to continue my floristry training via distance learning and hope to become a florist. Thanks to the students who poured the coffee." Belinda
