The beginner levels of Tai Chi teach you to find your correct postural position. It includes movements that foster the flow of chi (energy) in your body. It is recommended that students practise at the beginner levels 1 through to 3 for a year or more before moving to the intermediate level. However, many students prefer to continue with this level for longer periods.
These will all be taught within the context of the 37 posture short Yang form, preceded by 5 loosening exercises to aid the postures and movement within that form. There will also be an introduction to pushing hands. The teacher will spend some time in each class teaching the philosophy that supports mindfulness and Tai Chi.
This course is suitable for those totally new to Tai Chi and those with some experience.
Please wear comfortable clothing that permits movement.
