Ghader Bahiri is a biochemist and structural biologist, pursuing his research interests in the microbial world. He completed his PhD studies at the University of Auckland in 2009. As a postdoctoral scientist, he then received a Sir Charles Hercus Health Research Fellowship through the Health Research Council of New Zealand. He is currently an Associate Professor and head of the Laboratory of Microbial Biochemistry and Biotechnology. The overarching research themes in his laboratory are to address the global issues of antimicrobial resistance and agricultural methane emissions. He is currently leading the Centre for Antimicrobial Research at the University of Auckland.
