Description
Throughout the session, you'll master:
- Basic Floral Designs: Learn to create beautiful blooms in both monochromatic tones and blended colour techniques
- Landscapes on White Paper: Explore how alcohol ink can be used to craft expressive, flowing landscapes
- Florals on Black Paper: Discover the striking effect of alcohol ink florals on dark backgrounds for a bold, eye-catching result
By the end of the workshop, you'll have the skills to create at least three small finished pieces, which you'll take home with you. This class covers a variety of techniques in just four hours, providing you with a well-rounded introduction to the world of alcohol ink art.
No prior experience is needed—just come with a willingness to experiment and have fun with this unique, fluid medium!
Who should attend?
Adults wanting to experiment with new art materials. Drawing or painting skills are not essential.
What to bring
We'll take a short break during the course and we'll supply tea, coffee and biscuits. If you wish, bring something to eat. A materials charge is included within the course fee and everything is provided. You'll also take home a small starter pack so you can continue experimenting with alcohol inks.
About your tutor, Kavita
I have been painting off and on for about 20 years now. I have also won awards at the New Zealand Fellowship of artists and the Nara International Competition. I paint in water colours, encaustic wax and alcohol inks. I love the way the inks flow and it fascinates me to see what the students can create in a matter of hours.
