Come and learn how to use paper pulp to create stunning works of art. You will learn how to make your paper pulp and how to paint to create different textural effects and accentuate your masterpiece with gradation. At the end of this class, you will produce two major art pieces: A textured artwork in 2D, and a 3D low-relief sculptural work both mounted on a canvas panel. This course is suitable for children aged 9 - 12 years. A materials charge is included within the course fee.
Your lunch, snacks and a drink bottle. Wear clothing suitable for messy art. Bring an empty icecream tub or a bowl for mixing up the paper clay medium.
Amanda Fe Echevarria is a professional visual artist, art educator and curator currently completing her post-graduate degree in Creative Art Therapy. She has more than 15 years of teaching experience in different settings. Teaching the use of paper clay as a painting medium has been part of her art courses being offered in her workshop centre back home in the Philippines. This way of painting is so popular in her country that they hold national competitions in this medium. This painting technique creates vibrant and striking images without having to use paintbrushes.
