In this short course you will learn how to select and arrange flowers from your rambles along roadsides, parks or beaches. You will learn how to identify and select local flora, and understand seasonal availability and principles to enable you to forage sustainably. By selecting interesting textural combinations, leaf patterns and complementary colours, you will learn to arrange and create unique, sustainable floral designs.
A selection of materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring along additional foraged materials to supplement your design. No experience is necessary.
Each of our floral design courses are designed as stand-alone courses to explore a different aspect of floristry. The March course focuses on autumn flowers, and the July course on winter flowers and foliage.
Those with an interest in flowers, home decorating, or perhaps considering training for a career in the floristry industry. Or those seeking a creative outlet.
Bring your lunch. Tea and coffee will be available in the staff room. We recommend that you bring a box, basket or other receptacle to carefully transport your creation home. All flowers, foliage and materials are included in your course fee (value $50).
