Description
Join NZ artist Lizzie Snow AKA ‘fortyonehundred’ for a contemporary exploration of the mandala design. Enjoy this mindful practice of creating your own mandala. Embrace the process of meditative mark making that grows and expands upon the canvas. You'll first practice on paper before using paint pens and a canvas panel to create a mandala artwork that you can take home and display.
Expected learning outcomes
- Foundations: Create the foundation grid to set up your mandala
- Prep: Practice patterns and shapes
- Creation: Draw a mandala in pencil and then in paint
- Completion: Learn how to fix mistakes and sign your artwork

People interested in mindfulness, meditation, drawing, the flow state of mind. All levels of experience welcome.
What to bring
Your lunch and water bottle. All materials ($20) are included within the course fee. We'll provide tea and coffee in the staffroom.
About your tutor, Lizzie
Lizzie Snow works under her artist name 'fortyonehundred'. Inspired by fractals in nature, Lizzie creates contemporary explorations of the mandala and free-flowing artworks. Her credentials include a Master of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Design, over 150,000 followers online, numerous high-profile collaborations, professionally produced online courses, and significant media coverage. She has collaborated with brands including Apple, Lululemon, Converse, Whittaker's, and more. The mediums Lizzie engages in includes original drawings and paintings, limited-edition prints and products, and internationally commissioned murals.
