About The Advanced Art of Conversation
This is a practical class for learners who want to improve their skills in a social setting.
We will learn and practice
- How to start a mutually interesting discussion
- Ways to stay up to date on "hot topics"
- Difficult conversations and how to start and conclude them
- Ways to disagree with respect
- Using non-verbal cues
- Conversing in business networking
- Telephone etiquette
- Dealing with people who interrupt or talk over you
We also offer The Art of Conversation which runs over a Saturday and Sunday which teaches foundational skills for making conversation.
Who should attend
Anyone who wants to improve their conversational skills for improved workplace relationships or to reduce stress in social situations. This is not a course to teach English to migrants. Upper Intermediate to Advanced level ESOL students (ie those who can converse comfortably in English) are welcomed. You don't need to have completed Part One to attend Part Two.
