Description
2025 course dates
Each course runs for eight weeks. Each course has classes on Monday & Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:00 PM. 16 classes (16 hours)
- Term 1 - 11 February
- Term 2 - 28 April
- Term 3 - 21 July
- Term 4 - 6 October
About the course
Improve your conversation skills for life and work in New Zealand. Suitable for Upper Intermediate to Advanced English speakers. Focus on speaking and listening.
Maximum class size 15 students. Average size is 12 students.
Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) fee subsidy
This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the TEC for:
- NZ citizens
- Those who hold a residency-class visa
- Individuals granted refugee status
- In some cases partners of NZ citizens and permanent migrants may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.
Conditions:
- Registrants must be aged 16 years or older
- Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school
- You should attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy
- We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
- You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status

Course fees
Qualifying learners: FREE. This is funded by the TEC and conditions apply (see above).
All others: $150. If you are awarded a residency visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course.
