Description
Join Margaret Woollett for this gold foiling and embellishment workshop, inspired by the bling of Christmas, with lots of ideas to explore and create. We will look specifically at items that are able to bring delight and pleasure for Christmas time.
You will be introduced to a variety of techniques that form the foundation of stunning gold foiling and the how of making embossing stencils that may be used more than once. Learn the different tools and materials required, and gain knowledge of the products used in these techniques and where to purchase the best supplies for your projects.
Through guided practice, develop the skills needed to apply gold foil to paper and other surfaces, creating lettering designs, and other items specifically for Christmas time with beautiful golden accented finishes.
Through out the course, we’ll explore creative inspiration on how to incorporate gold foiling into your Christmas celebrations, decorations, cards, and creative gift ideas.

What to bring
Your lunch. Cutting board (if you have one), pencils, rule, craft knife, small paint brushes, pens for writing, small blunt end knitting needle. Your course fee includes the foil, papers, glues, size and other materials for this course ($30).
About your tutor
Margaret Woollett, a Freelance Calligrapher and Lettering Artist, has been involved with lettering and calligraphy for more than 25 years, as a student, freelancer and teacher. She works from her Devonport studio taking classes, teaching at community centres and working freelance for a wide range of commercial clients.
