Kia ora! Ko Lyndiana tōku ingoa. He uri tēnei nō Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngā Puhi. My name is Lyndiana and I affiliate to the iwi of Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Raukawa and Ngā Puhi.
In 2017 I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Māori Development majoring in Māori media. To further my studies I started my Master of Arts in Māori development in 2018. My research focused on how universities can improve Māori students’ transitions from secondary school to university. A case study was completed with Māori students from AUT’s kapa haka group and Māori association.
While completing my Master’s degree I have been teaching and assisting in various papers at AUT including reo Māori, noho Marae (Marae stay over experience), literacy and history papers. Working at AUT made me realise I am passionate about teaching; it is rewarding being able to share knowledge with students and watch them grow in their own learning journeys.
