Come and learn the skills to paint portraits from photos. Learn the basics of form, value and colour - while stealing a few tricks from some of the old masters. Create your very own masterpieces.
This course will focus on painting alla prima (wet on wet) acrylic painting and explore painting different subjects from photos. It will discuss techniques for simplifying the subject and learning to paint with directness and economy. Students will learn the basics of form, value, colour and how to use painting knowledge to interpret photos so that they can produce successful paintings, while also stealing a few tricks from some of the old masters.

What to bring
All materials are included in the course fee ($55 value). You'll paint two canvases in this course.

I've been working as a portraitist for five years, as well as exhibiting my own work. After finishing my studies at animation college, I've spent the last two years tutoring adults and children in art.
