We all want to grow the freshest, healthiest and juiciest vegetables and fruit but the cost of setting up and growing can be off-putting. This workshop will take you through all the simple tricks to save costs beginning with planters and gardens to what is the most cost effective soil to use and on to how to collect your own seed and propagate your own plants. Cost need not be a barrier to producing great vegetables and fruit from your own garden.
Please note there is NO refund or transfer if you cancel less than 5 working days in advance of a class starting. Our refund policy can be read in full here.
Imagine having goodies from the garden year-round. Choose the best fruit for your small space and look at new and interesting edible plants. Paul has many years experience in organic gardening and fruit tree production, and will teach you how to set up an edible garden that suits your particular small space.
As this course runs over the lunch period, bring a sandwich or snack as we will take a break. Tea and coffee will be provided in the staffroom. We encourage students to socialise in the staffroom during breaks as this is a great way of meeting like-minded community members. Bring a pen and paper for note-taking.
Tutor Paul runs his own successful container gardening and landscaping business. He also teaches other gardening courses at Selwyn Community Education.
Just wanted to say that I learnt so much from this workshop on Saturday. Awesome presenter too! Fiona. September 2020
