    Course dates 2026

    Each course offers 24 classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM for a total of 48 hours tuition. Courses start:

    • Term 1 - 10 February
    • Term 2 - 5 May
    • Term 3 - 28 July
    • Term 4 - 13 October

    About the course

    Build your confidence speaking English in real-life situations — from casual chats to workplace conversations. In this friendly, small-group course, you’ll develop your fluency, pronunciation, and listening skills through lively discussions on topics that are current, practical, and relevant to life in New Zealand. Taught by qualified native English-speaking teachers, these sessions are designed for Intermediate level learners who want to sound more natural, expand their vocabulary, and enjoy expressing themselves with ease and confidence and make new friends.  

    You will learn New Zealand idioms and slang, and share cultural experiences. Suitable for students with intermediate level English.

    Maximum class size 15 students.


    Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) fee subsidy

    This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the TEC for:  

    • NZ citizens;
    • Those holding residency-class visas;
    • Individuals granted refugee status;
    • In some cases spouses of NZ citizens and permanent residents may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.

    Conditions:

    • Registrants must be aged 16 years or older.
    • Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school.
    • You should attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy.
    • We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
    • You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status. 

    If you are unable to meet these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation. 


    Course fees

    Qualifying learners: $15 (subsidised by the TEC). A minimum of 80% attendance is required.

    All others: $310. If you are awarded a residency visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course.
