Spring is the optimal time for purification and detoxification to eliminate excess toxins and sluggishness accumulated over the winter.
Ayurveda practitioner and Yoga Therapist Sarita Blankenburg will introduce the Indian healing system of Ayurveda, its history and philosophy with a specific focus on seasonal diet and lifestyle principles, cleansing, and detoxification procedures, as well as tools and techniques for an Ayurvedic Spring Dinacharya (daily practice). We will explore the importance of the digestive fire (Agni) and our gut microbiome for a strong immune system. Sarita will demonstrate ayurvedic cleansing rituals and teach you how to practise them at home.
During this seminar Sarita will also introduce Ayurveda’s deep cleansing therapy ‘Panchakarma’. Panchakarma, in Sanskrit ‘five actions’, is referring to five purification treatment pathways designed to flush out deep seated toxins and eliminate the root cause of most chronic diseases.
On her recent trip to India, Sarita completed a professional development course in Panchakarma at an Ayurvedic hospital in Bangalore. She brought back a wealth of knowledge and skills to offer an authentic Panchakarma program at her Ayurveda New Zealand clinic in Grey Lynn and can't wait to share with you all the details.
Ayurveda, in Sanskrit ‘science of life’, offers a holistic approach which helps through diet, lifestyle, herbal medicine, treatments and yoga therapy to regain balance, energy, and quality of life. The wisdom of Ayurveda encourages people to take responsibility for their own health in alignment with the different stages of their lives, the seasons, and the environment they live in. It acknowledges the unique nature of each person through individual constitutions (Doshas) and applies dietary and lifestyle adjustments, body therapies, and herbal remedies to assist in optimal physical and mental wellbeing.

This experience awakened an inner calling to learn more about Ayurveda and Yoga.
