    Join Geoff to learn the basics of gestural drawing to capture the movement of birds. Then you'll progress to fluid media with watercolor and acrylic paint, putting the birds into their environment and habitat.

    Description

    Join Geoff Arnold, in this introduction to bird illustration.

    You'll look at some of the works of master bird painters, learn the basics of gestural drawing to capture movement, before progressing to fluid media with watercolor and acrylic paint.  Geoff will show you how to put your subjects into their environment and habitat to create compelling illustrations.

    At the end of the course you will have a number of drawings and one resolved painting.

    Who should attend?

    Anyone with a love of art and NZ natural history, suitable for beginners.

    What to bring?

    A materials costs is included within your course fee. You may like to bring reference materials - any pictures or books of birds that inspire you.
