Description
Join renowned artist Evan Woodruffe to learn the essentials of oil painting including preparation, brush selection, colour selection and composition while learning about allergy-friendly painting processes.
Course outline
This one-day workshop covers oil painting essentials: preparing surfaces, colour selection and mixing, mediums, composition and brush skills. You will produce a small study and a canvas.
By combining traditional and modern materials and techniques, this workshop avoids the use of solvents, providing safe and allergy-friendly painting processes to take home with you.
What to bring
Your lunch. We'll provide tea and coffee. Wear paint-friendly clothes and bring a smock or use the school aprons. All materials are included within the course fee ($20 materials charge included).
Who should attend?
This workshop is geared towards beginners; those who haven't begun painting and those who are self-taught and want to learn some traditional guidelines.

Evan Woodruffe is an artist who is well respected for his in-depth technical knowledge. Evan has his MFA (1st Class) from University of Auckland, and maintains a dynamic exhibition history across the Asia-Pacific region www.evanwoodruffe.com

Will we use mineral turpentine on this course?
We won't be using any solvents in the class as these are both a health hazard and bad for the paint film.
