    Home Te Reo Māori Introduction 3

    Continue your Te Reo and Te Ao Māori studies. This is a continuation course for those who have successfully completed our Introduction 1 and 2 courses. If you have not previously studied Te Reo at Selwyn Community Education, please contact the office. For future courses, please register your interest below and we'll email you when new courses scheduled. Course fee $60 or $155.

    Description

    Continue your learning journey of Te Reo and Te Ao Māori.

    Your commitment

    Learning a new language can be difficult and requires effort. Please enrol in this course only when you have the time resources to attend at least seven of the eight classes and to complete homework and practice. If you've already registered and you can no longer meet these obligations, please contact the office at least five days before the course starts and we'll do our best to transfer your registration to a future date.

    Our Te Reo pathway

    1. Te Reo Māori Introduction 1  - for total or relative beginners
    2. Te Reo Māori Introduction 2 - for those who have successfully completed our introductory 1 course
    3. Te Reo Māori Introduction 3 - for those who have successfully completed our first two courses

    You are welcome to repeat any level if you wish to consolidate your learning before progressing.

    Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) course fee subsidy

    This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the TEC for:  

    • NZ citizens;
    • Those who hold a residency-class visa;
    • Individuals granted refugee status;
    • In some cases spouses of NZ citizens and permanent migrants may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.

    Conditions:

    • Registrants must be aged 16 years or older.
    • Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school.
    • You should attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy.
    • We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
    • You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status .

    If you are unable to meet these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation. The subsidised course fee is $60.

    Prerequisites

    Have successfully attended Level 1 and Level 2 courses here at Selwyn Community Education. If you are new to Te Reo at Selwyn Community Education, or your attendance at previous courses was incomplete, please contact the office to discuss your situation.
