Description
2025 Course dates
Each course runs over eight week. Each course has classes on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. The total course duration is 24 hours. Courses start:
- Term 1 - 10 February
- Term 2 - 28 April
- Term 3 - 21 July
- Term 4 - 6 October
About the course
Improve your conversation skills for life and work in New Zealand. Suitable for students with Intermediate English level. The course has a focus on speaking and listening.
Maximum class size 14 students. Average size is 10 students.
Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) fee subsidy
This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the TEC for:
- NZ citizens;
- Those who hold a residency-class visa;
- Individuals granted refugee status;
- In some cases spouses of NZ citizens and permanent migrants may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.
Conditions:
- Registrants must be aged 16 years or older.
- Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school.
- You should attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy.
- We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
- You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status.
If you are unable to meet these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation.
Course fees
Qualifying learners: Free - the course fee is fully subsidised by the TEC. Conditions apply (see above).
All others: $220. If you are awarded a residency visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course
Refugees may qualify for a fully subsidised course fee. Please contact the office for more information.
