NOTE: This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and migrants/refugees with residency class visas. In some cases, the spouses of citizens and residents may also qualify, so please contact the office for further information. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes. You must also provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status. A condition of accepting a course fee subsidy is that you commit to at least 80% attendance of your course.

Reem Ayyub has lectured on “Women in Islam” and “Introduction to Islam” at Auckland University and Selwyn Community Education. She developed a programme that explains women’s status in Islam in relation to our modern society today. She also works as head of Arabic and Islamic at a NZ Primary School, where she teaches and establishes curriculae and assessment that integrates with the New Zealand curriculum and pedagogy. She has experienced life in both the Middle East and New Zealand and has come to make sense of both worlds. She is passionate about bridging to the two cultures and breaking misconceptions and prejudices that have no business in everyday life.
