This school holiday course will give young students the opportunity to learn cooking skills in a fun and safe environment. For children aged 8 to 12 years. Course fee includes $35.00 for ingredients.

Description
The focus will be on cooking healthy meals that appeal to the young palate and are associated with eating out and treats.
Course outline
- kitchen and food safety
- reading recipes
- measuring ingredients
- preparation and basic knife skill
- basic food science and nutrition relating to dishes
- serving food
- cleaning up after cooking

What to bring
Students should bring the following (preferably labelled) equipment:
- two tea towels
- apron
- vegetable paring knife
- cook's knife
- containers/bags for leftovers
- knives should be sharp to avoid cuts and accidents
- a water bottle
